Project Management

We support you to identify, understand and deliver change.

We can help you to articulate your strategic direction or project goals, the changes you are wanting to make and the approach you want to take to get there. We will help you consider your governance needs to deliver the change upfront, and plan for the key risks that could arise during, or as a result of any changes.

We can provide an outsourced programme or project management role to ensure your project is executed efficiently and on time - with strong governance throughout. We bring multiple stakeholders together to deliver one clear goal. Ensuring the planning is aligned across the whole piece, managing interdependencies and risk holistically, and against your overall objectives.

Our experience is that some change programmes take years to deliver, and during this time the world and the people delivering the change can move on. We can provide an independent review of your programme, checking that the objectives remain clear to all parties involved in the delivery and that the governance and ways of working, and the costs, continue to support where you are now at.

Endgame journeys

During the journey to endgame, the pace of change is much quicker - trustees are condensing what would have been more than 20-30+ years of self-sufficiency into a shorter time frame. Trustee governance will need to evolve, and become more dynamic, and they’ll need someone to wrap their arms around all the moving pieces, to enable:

  • alignment towards clear goals
  • critical decisions to be made by the right people at the right time
  • clarity over who is doing what (especially as new activities arise), and that things aren’t being duplicated or falling through the gaps
  • appropriate Trustee experience, skills and knowledge to support the activities and next steps on the journey
  • effective processes to identify and manage changes to the risks that could de-rail you

We marry project management experience with an in-depth knowledge of pensions. We combine strategic, operational, technical, secretarial, and consulting expertise, helping trustees achieve their strategic goals more quickly. We will provide the assurance you need that all your advisers are focussed on delivering to your objectives.

Benefit and data rectification

Our project oversight experience will help to keep the momentum going on your benefit and data rectification activities. Often separate data and benefit projects use the same source data, albeit sometimes looking for slightly different information. Why look in member files three times, when you can look once. And at a time when data rectification resources are limited, we will challenge advisers and help to bring synergies and build momentum to deliver your various data and benefit remediation activities.

Muse only provides pension scheme management and governance services meaning we can act as independent facilitator to decision-making, using our technical knowledge to ask the right questions, coordinate/ collaborate with advisers, challenge, and act as trusted adviser to trustees. Our independence means we enjoy open relationships with advisers and suppliers. They know that we are not trying to take work away from them, but to work with them to achieve the best outcome for our mutual client.

Benefit changes

Providing consulting and programme management solutions to manage changes to employer pension and benefit structures. Whether that’s managing the pension aspect of the project on behalf of Trustees or managing the whole programme of change. We have supported internal consultations, by quickly diagnosing and feeding in practical implementation and operational implications into discussions. We are experienced at leading the design and development of cross functional solutions, ensuring the rules and end-to-end processes between pensions, reward, HR and payroll are aligned and understood. Coordinating schedules and resourcing for the whole programme and advising on the impacts and dependencies of other company projects to the delivery of the benefit changes.
